The debut release from Siberia-based Ablösung. We live in an progressive age. Technology speeds forward and things that were once obscured, distant, and bizarre are coming into clean focus. Ablösung is not one of those things. This solo project from a frozen wastelands of Russia provides the necessary jolt of regression in a world of boring progression. Deformität is dedicated to the icy breath of evil and death. This was the only explanation given. It is total regression. Raw, primal, primitive black metal. A violent low-end frequency assault that sounds as if it’s being birthed in pain from a Cold War era bunker as you wander above, feet sinking into the dreary Siberian snow. Pounding minimalism with an isolated maniacal delivery. Ablösong does not glide through majestic mists as black metal often does. Instead it roars, dead-eyed and delirious with a death rattling mid-tempo stomp. We fear what we do not know, and we know almost nothing of Ablösung. Rejoice in the distortion, and embrace the atavism.
