From some small rotten town in West Michigan crawls Soulless Entity with their new album The Past Will Never Be Fixed. A true outsider, dark, depressive black metal record worthy of your time in 2026. The production is appropriately cold and distant as the melodic and noisy riffs and primitive drumming anchor what has to be one of the most unhinged vocal performances by a band this nascent. The suicidal hiss of only subsides long enough for an instrumental piano ballad (!!!) before returning to finish off the job of killing the listener slowly. Their third release on CSR (second as Soulless Entity, the first as Depressing Oceans), the band continues to go weirder and stronger. As with all DSBM, there is not a light and the end of this tunnel, and looking back, the past will never be fixed.
